The next day, he loaded his vehicle with weapons, ammunition, 12 Molotov cocktails, and a map to Rideau Cottage, with the intention to shoot the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, he did not reach there but admitted to the police that he had murdered his mother.

The Crown had sought 17 to 18 years for his parole ineligibility, but the court has not provided further updates on his release.
