Kiran Bhatt, widely recognized as the wife of Mahesh Bhatt, was an affectionate mother and spouse. She and Mahesh, one of the most renowned Indian directors, producers, and screenwriters, met during their middle school years, starting as friends and eventually developing their bond into a romantic relationship.
Kiran, originally named Lorraine Bright, chose the name Kiran upon marrying Mahesh. She passed away in 2003 at the age of 53, and the cause of her death remains undisclosed. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Kiran, a devout Catholic of English, Scottish, Armenian, and Burmese descent, attended Bombay Scottish Orphanage.
Despite facing challenges, such as expulsion from school due to her relationship with Mahesh, Kiran and Mahesh became a celebrated couple in Bollywood during the 1980s. They had two children together, Pooja and Rahul Bhatt. Pooja, a well-known actress in Bollywood, gained popularity in the 90s and early 2000s.
Despite Mahesh’s infidelity leading to their separation, Kiran chose not to remarry and raised her children as a single parent. The couple prioritized their children’s well-being, and Kiran’s kindness and humility were admired by many in the Indian film industry. Though she is no longer with us, Kiran will be remembered as a warm-hearted individual who played a significant role in Bollywood.
